How it works

DCA (dollar-cost averaging) means buying a fixed dollar amount on a schedule, like $100 every month, no matter what the price is. This planner answers: "If I invest $X every month for the next N years, what could it be worth if the price ends up at A, B or C?"

Hypothetical scenarios, not predictions. Educational, not financial advice. Real prices are volatile and can go to zero; results ignore taxes, slippage and spreads unless entered.

DCA planner questions, answered

What is DCA (dollar-cost averaging)?

Buying a fixed dollar amount on a regular schedule, for example $100 every month, no matter what the price is. You buy more coins when the price is low and fewer when it is high.

What does this DCA planner do?

It projects what a monthly buying plan could be worth in the future under price scenarios that you choose (bear, base, bull). It shows total invested, coins accumulated, average cost and projected value for each scenario.

Are these predictions?

No. The scenarios are hypothetical what-ifs based on target prices you enter. Nobody knows future prices. This is educational, not financial advice.

How is the price path modelled?

Each scenario moves the price from today's price to your target price over the plan. 'Compounded' grows by the same percentage every month; 'Linear' adds the same dollar amount every month. You buy once at the start of each month at that month's modelled price. Real prices are far more volatile.

Why do people use DCA?

It removes the pressure of timing the market, builds a habit, and smooths out the effect of volatility on your average purchase price. It does not guarantee a profit and does not protect against losses.

Where does the current price come from?

It is prefilled from CoinGecko's public API with attribution and you can edit it. Fees, taxes and spreads are not included unless you enter a buy fee.
